His last film Haider may be a top contender for awards at every ceremony, but actor Shahid Kapoor says he is ‘jobless.’
“Haider won five National Awards. I have two films that will release soon but the truth is no body has signed me. I am jobless,” said Shahid in an interview to NDTV.
The quote is quite surprising considering there were strong reports of Shahid and Saif Ali Khan coming together for Vishal Bhardwaj’s Rangoon. Clearly that film is not happening anytime soon.
Meanwhile the actor, who will next be seen in Abhishek Chaubey’s Udta Punjab and also opposite Alia Bhatt, is currently in Malaysia for the 16th IIFA awards. There is a high probability of his bagging the best actor award.
Sources say that after IIFA, Shahid wants to get busy with his wedding preparations and that is the reason he isn’t committing to any project just yet. While June 10 was the day reported by the media, Shahid Kapoor has denied it.
“It’s surprising how others know more about my wedding than I do. I want to tell the people out there that like I update them about my films, I will also update you about my personal life,” said Shahid.
No films, no wedding. We’re sure all that is going to change pretty soon.
