Subhash Kapoor’s movie Guddu Rangeela, featuring Arshad Warsi and Amit Sadh as a kidnapper duo, releases today. Set in Haryana and based partly on the infamous Manoj-Babli honour killing, the movie offers glimpses of workings of the khap panchayat as well. This is the second collaboration between Arshad and Mr Kapoor who have previously worked in Jolly LLB. The director told PTI,”Arshad was the first one to come into my mind” for the role of Rangeela.
The movie stars Amit Sadh of Kai Po Che! fame along with Aditi Rao Hydari, who features as Baby, a young girl who eventually falls in love with the character of Guddu.
Meanwhile, the controversial song Mata Ka Email from the movie has garnered a lot of views since its release.
