Pakistani actress Mahira Khan is Mumbai-bound to begin work on Raees, her Bollywood debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan. Here’s what she was doing in Pakistan before flying out.

Just 12 hours before boarding her flight to India, Mahira, who became a household name as Khirad on TV show Humsafar, was busy shooting for a promotional campaign for Pakistan’s Hum Films, titled Bin Roye.

The actress was spotted shooting in a Pakistani studio. She looked pretty in an embellished Sania Maskatiya suit.

Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees to Release on Eid 2016

Director Rahul Dholakia is all set to step back into Bollywood after five years with his new film Raees, which will release on Eid next year. The film stars Shah Rukh Khan with Pakistani actress Mahira Khan.

Mahira is known for playing the role of Khirad in popular Pakistani show Humsafar, and she is making her Bollywood debut with Raees, which also stars the versatile Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

In the movie, SRK would be seen playing the role of a bootlegger and Mahira would be playing his love interest. Nawazuddin will embody a policeman chasing King Khan’s character.

Raees is an action thriller drama, co-produced by Excel Entertainment and Red Chillies Entertainment.

Pakistani actress Mahira Khan will be joining Shah Rukh Khan in the upcoming movie ‘ Raees ,’ it has been reported.

Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, the film, which will see the ‘Humsafar’ star playing the wife of a gangster ( Shah Rukh Khan), will also feature critically-acclaimed actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui as a cop, the Express Tribune reported.

SRK feels the heat of having Mahira and Nawaz in Raees, wants to excel like them

“Now I would have to excel and perform like them,”, added the actor, who is set to join the film’s shoot by March end.

Mahira, who became popular in India with her successful TV show “Humsafar”, will be seen as Shah Rukh’s leading lady in “Raees”.

Shah Rukh has already met Mahira and seen her television work. He is quite impressed with her talent.

“Rahul (Dholakia) liked her. She suited the film a lot. I have seen a little bit part of her television stuff. I have met her and she is marvellous actor,” the 49-year-old said.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui replaces Farhan Akhtar in SRK’s Raees

After working with Aamir Khan and Salman Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui is all set to work with the third Khan of Bollywood – Shah Rukh Khan.

Nawazuddin has replaced Farhan Akhtar in director Rahul Dholakia’s Raees.

Shooting of Raees was pushed from December 2014 to February 2015, the dates clashed with Farhan’s Rock On 2 schedule. So, Farhan had no choice but to opt out from the film.

SRK will play Gujarati don in the film and will sport completely different look. Nawazuddin will play the role of a policeman.
