Today’s Big Release: Te3n and The Conjuring 2

Moviegoers are in for a thrilling Friday as Amitabh Bachchan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui‘s Te3n will hit the big screen. The film chronicles Mr Bachchan’s quest to find his missing granddaughter with help from Nawazuddin, who plays a priest and Vidya Balan (in extended cameo role), who plays a cop. As the cold trail of his missing granddaughter is revived when a similar crime is committed, Big B embarks on a thrilling journey in the streets of Kolkata to find her. The film is directed by Ribhu Dasgupta and produced by Sujoy Ghosh, the director of Kahaani. Randeep Hooda, a former MMA artiste and Kajal Aggarwal’s romantic story Do Lafzo Ki Kahaani also releases today. The film is directed by Deepak Tijori. Hollywood is also all set to make India’s weekend a bit more thrilling with the release of The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist. The film is a sequel to 2013 film Conjuring and this time demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren come to England to investigate poltergeist activity in Enfield. Then there’s also Game of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke and Sam Claffin’s Me Before You, which is up for release. Punjabi film Once Upon A Time In Amritsar, Bengali films Parobash and Niyoti represent the regional section.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui on Whether He’ll Head to Hollywood

Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who has made his mark in Bollywood with films like Gangs of Wasseypur II, Kick, Kahaani and Bajrangi Bhaijaan, says he would love to be part of a Hollywood project, provided he lands a ‘performance-oriented’ role.

Nawazuddin, whose movies are usually appreciated at international film festivals, was attending the success party of his latest film Manjhi – The Mountain Man here on Wednesday when he was asked about his Hollywood plans.

The actor said, “If I’ll get a chance to do a performance-oriented role or if I found something interesting, then definitely I will do that.”

Directed by Ketan Mehta, Nawazuddin’s latest release Manjhi- The Mountain Man has been praised for the actor’s intense performance.

Today’s Big Releases: Manjhi – The Mountain Man, All Is Well

Filmmaker Ketan Mehta’s Manjhi – The Mountain Man, featuring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte, releases today. Manjhi – The Mountain Man is a biopic based on the life of Dashrath Manjhi, popularly known as the ‘Mountain Man’, who lived in Gehlaur village, near Gaya, in Bihar. He carved a road through a mountain in 22 years.

Nawazuddin plays the titular role of Manjhi in this film. Mr Mehta recently said that nobody could have played the role of Manjhi other than Nawazuddin.

“Nawazuddin is the best actor of his generation. Secondly, his physical type also perfectly matches with Dashrath Manjhi, who was a short man with a lean physique. The intensity in him was amazing, especially in his eyes and that same intensity can be seen in Nawazuddin’s eyes,” Mr Mehta said.

All Is Well, which features Abhishek Bachchan and Asin, also releases today. Directed by Umesh Shukla who made OMG – Oh My God!, the plot revolves around a dysfunctional family whose members don’t quite get along with one another. They embark on a road trip where the characters try to resolve the differences between them.

All Is Well also features Rishi Kapoor and Supriya Pathak in significant roles.

Meanwhile, Hollywood has the superhero film Fantastic Four on offer. Directed by Josh Trank, Fantastic Four is a reboot of the original franchise and stars Miles Teller as Mr Fantastic, Kate Mara as The Invisible Woman, Michael B Jordan as The Human Torch and Jamie Bell as The Thing.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui to star opposite Nicole Kidman?

Nawazuddin Siddiqui is on a roll these days! His acting skills and hard work has started paying and he has clearly made a mark for himself in Bollywood.

He is currently working with Salman Khan, Big B and many other big Bollywood names but that is not it. If all goes well, Nawazuddin may work with Hollywood star Nicole Kidman.

Yes, you read it right. As per the reports, the ctor has been roped in to star opposite Nicole Kidman in a film that will be directed by Garth Davis. The movie, an adaptation of Saroo Brierley’s book, A Long Way Home, will be extensively shot in India and Australia.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui replaces Farhan Akhtar in SRK’s Raees

After working with Aamir Khan and Salman Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui is all set to work with the third Khan of Bollywood – Shah Rukh Khan.

Nawazuddin has replaced Farhan Akhtar in director Rahul Dholakia’s Raees.

Shooting of Raees was pushed from December 2014 to February 2015, the dates clashed with Farhan’s Rock On 2 schedule. So, Farhan had no choice but to opt out from the film.

SRK will play Gujarati don in the film and will sport completely different look. Nawazuddin will play the role of a policeman.

Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui says he is being honoured for “outstanding achievement” at the Chicago South Asian Film Festival Sep 16. He says awards and recognition mean a lot to him.

Speaking shyly of the honour, Nawazuddin said: “It’s something I am quite kicked about.”
