Daddy box office collection day 4: Arjun Rampal’s film, ‘Daddy’ is probably having a tough time amid already running popular films like ‘Baadshaho’and ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’. This week ‘It’ and ‘Poster Boys’ too are posing as a huge competition for the film.
This week, Arjun Rampal’s ‘Daddy‘ clashed with the Deol brothers’ film ‘Poster Boys‘. Since none of the movies created enough hype, they both faced low occupancy. The film also released at a time when the popular Hollywood film, It, released at the theatres. Although Arjun Rampal’s portrayal as Arun Gawli is garnering a lot of praises from critics and audience alike, the film is probably having a tough time amid already running films like ‘Baadshaho’, ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan‘, and now ‘It‘ and ‘Poster Boys‘.

Actor Arjun Rampal summoned over meeting with gangster Arun Gawli

The Mumbai Police issued summons to actor Arjun Rampal in connection with his alleged meeting with convicted gangster Arun Gawli in JJ Hospital late last year. According to sources, the actor met Gawli in connection with an upcoming movie, where Rampal plays a role based on Gawli. “Rampal met Gawli in JJ Hospital on December 29, when Gawli was brought to the hospital for a medical check-up. The meeting took place in ward number four of the hospital when personnel at the JJ Marg police station got information about it and reached the spot. Rampal was told he could not meet Gawli without the court’s permission, after which Rampal left,” said a senior police officer.

Arjun Rampal: National Award is the Only Non-Commercial Event

With the award season in full swing, actor Arjun Rampal says that such functions are money making businesses, except for the National Award.

“I think it’s a money making business. National Award is the only award which is not a commercial event and it’s the only award function which has got any weight,” said Arjun, who received the National Award for Supporting Actor for his role in Rock On!!.

The actor, who hails from a non-film background, says he doesn’t feel like an outsider.

“I don’t feel as an outsider in this industry. I have immense respect for the industry and will do anything and everything in my power to contribute back to it,” he said.
