The doctor who collected blood samples from actor Salman Khan after the hit-and-run case in 2002 told a Mumbai court today that he had smelt alcohol on Mr Khan’s breath. When cross-examined, however, he said that the ‘case paper’ which documents clinical details only mentions that the actor’s breath smelled, without specifying that it smelt of alcohol.
A clinical examination showed that Salman Khan was not drunk, the doctor told the court. The nature of the ‘clinical examination’ was not specified.
The doctor also told the court that the actor’s pupils were slightly dilated but his gait was normal and speech coherent. He said, under cross-examination, that pupils could be dilated because of many reasons, including a lack of sleep.
