The acclaimed period piece Bajirao Mastani swept the National Awards – announced on Monday – with wins for its director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Best Supporting Actress for Tanvi Azmi, among other awards.

Amitabh Bachchan won Best Actor for Piku – his fourth National Award – and Kangana Ranaut won Best Actress for Tanu Weds Manu Returns. This was the 29-year-old actress’ third National Award win after last year’s Best Actress National Award for Queen and 2009′s Best Supporting Actress National Award for Fashion.
