Vidya Balan, while discussing her upcoming film, Tumhari Sulu, where the actor has been directed by debutant Suresh Triveni, said she loved the fact that the filmmaker pushed her out of her comfort zone. The film also stars Neha Dhupia and Manav Kaul, and is slated to release on November 24.
With one National Award and a plethora of stand-out performances to her credit in her over a decade career, one would think Vidya Balan would not be very comfortable taking directions from the filmmakers she collaborates with now, as is the case with many top stars, who think they know enough to be told what to do.

Vidya Balan was at a launch and the only question on everyone’s mind was regarding the CBFC’s functioning over the first month since undergoing a major change. She refused to divulge any detail but she did reveal that the board members recently had a meeting and she is happy “that all like-minded people are on the board.”
Last month, much to the relief of filmmakers and the audience, the Censor Board of Film Certification underwent a revamp in August. Padma Shri recipient and lyricist Prasoon Joshi replaced Pahlaj Nihalani as the chairperson and revered film personalities like Vidya Balan and TS Nagabharana became board’s new members. Hopes are pinned on the new censor board to bring the much-needed sanity to the film certification process in the country, and as the chairperson and his members have kept mum about their plan of action, it has left the industry and the media speculating about what the new team will bring to the table.

Will Vidya Balan Work With Shah Rukh, Salman, Aamir? She Said…

Actress Vidya Balan said that she has got much more than what she had hoped for. Vidya, who made her debut in Bollywood with Parineeta in 2005, is “grateful” for the opportunities that came her way.

“At one time in life, I wanted just one film release. I would have been happy if I had that one release but I can’t believe I have been around for 11 years, done all the films and have worked with the people I have looked up to,” Vidya told IANS in a telephonic interview.

Vidya has featured in films like The Dirty Picture, Paa, Kahaani, Ishqiya and No One Killed Jessica.

“I got great opportunities for myself as an actor and have got so much appreciation. I feel humbled and blessed,” added Vidya.

Vidya has worked with stars like Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan, Emraan Haashmi, Sanjay Dutt and Saif Ali Khan. But she is yet to share screen space with the Khan trio — Shah Rukh, Salman and Aamir.

Shah Rukh featured in a special song in Vidya’s 2007 film Heyy Babyy.

Will she work with Shah Rukh, Salman and Aamir?

“I don’t know really. I don’t think about it because I guess I am very happy with the kind of work I am doing. I don’t think about what I haven’t done or have yet to do,” said Vidya.

Vidya’s new film Te3n released today. The actress will also make her debut in the Marathi film industry with Ekk Albela.

“I always wanted to do a Marathi film. I have been born and brought up in Mumbai. I am very familiar with the Maharashtrian culture,” said Vidya.

“I have grown up watching Marathi films on Saturday evenings. My mother used to watch them and I also watched a lot of them,” Vidya said, pointing out how “somewhere in your work, you bring in the influences from your personal life.”

In Ekk Albela, which is based on actor-filmmaker Bhagwan Dada, Vidya plays veteran actress Geeta Bali.

“The fabulous part is that it’s a special appearance as Geeta Bali. Someone whom I find extremely charming and effervescent. It was recreating Ekk Albela, the songs of which have always been famous,” said Vidya.

But why cameos?

“It’s quite a coincidence that the two films that I am doing have a special appearance and are releasing in the same month. I think June is a special month,” quipped the actress.

Vidya Balan Reveals Release Date of Kahaani 2

Post the gripping act in Kahaani, actress Vidya Balan will be back on the silver screen with the second part of the film, titled Kahaani 2. The sequel will release on November 25.

The actress, who garnered praise with her act as a pregnant woman on a mission to find her husband in the movie, also asked her fans and followers on Twitter to brace for “another mother of a story”.

Vidya shared the news on Twitter with a 20-second video. Kahaani 2 is co-written and directed by Sujoy Ghosh.

The Paa star captioned the video: “Another mother of a story”, which also is the tagline of the film.

The sequel, which went on the floors in March, also stars Arjun Rampal.

Kahaani revolved around a pregnant woman named Vidya Bagchi, who came to Kolkata from London in search of a man.

The 2012 film also featured Parambrata Chatterjee, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Indraneil Sengupta, Dhritiman Chatterjee and Saswata Chatterjee.
