Udta Punjab is the hardest character I have played till date: Alia Bhatt

Alia Bhatt made her Bollywood debut in 2012 with Karan Johar‘s Student Of The Year and since then there has been not looking back for the actress. She portrayed a young, rich girl in her debut film and then a vibrant and free-spirited girl in 2 States and Highway. However, the 22-year-old Alia Bhatt says Udta Punjab is a “risk” she has taken in her career.

For her, Udta Punjab is the “hardest character I have played till date”.

“The film that I am doing right now (‘Udta Punjab’) is a big risk that I have taken so far in my career,” Alia said here Monday during the launch of debut edition of Miss Vogue magazine.

Udta Punjab Takes Flight, Shahid Kapoor Wants Luck

The shooting of Abhishek Chaubey’s Udta Punjab has taken flight, said the film’s lead actor Shahid Kapoor, who finds it a “tough film”.

The film features Alia Bhatt and Kareena Kapoor Khan.

Earlier too, Shahid had mentioned that his role in Udta Punjab may be his “scariest role” ever.

Udta Punjab: Diljit Dosanjh gets lucky with Kareena Kapoor

Latest rumours suggest that Punjabi star Diljit Dosanjh and not Pakistani heartthrob Fawad Khan, who has been roped in opposite Kareena Kapoor Khan in Udta Punjab.

Abhishey Chaubey, director of the movie, will leave for Punjab this weekend to finalise locations and the movie will go on floors by the end of February. Currently, the team is working on the look of the four lead actors.

Earlier there were reports that Fawad Khan was being considered for the role after Ayushmann Khurrana was ousted from the film, allegedly because Kareena didn’t want to be cast opposite him.

Last week buzz had it that Fawad is being considered to star opposite Priyanka Chopra in her debut production venture, Madamji.

Now the latest reports claim that Fawad has been offered Ayushmann Khurrana’s role after he made mysterious exit from Abhishey Chaubey’s “Udta Punjab”.

Here’s why Ayushmann quit Udta Punjab

Actor Ayushmann Khurrana is aghast at rumours that he’s no longer a part of Udta Punjab because Kareena Kapoor, who has joined the cast, didn’t want to share screen space with him. He says he couldn’t do the movie due to date hassles.

“I didn’t do Udta Punjab because our dates were not matching. I had given prior commitments to my films 1911 and Hamara Bajaj, and so the dates were clashing.

“It was getting difficult for me to work in all the films together, and this is the only reason I didn’t do that project. Besides, I’m open to multi-starrer films,” said the Vicky Donor actor.
