The Bombay High Court has directed a lower court to proceed with the trial against actor Sooraj Pancholi, who was accused of abetting the suicide of his then actor girlfriend Jiah Khan in the year 2013. Jiah Khan had worked in popular movies like, Ghajini, Housefull, to name a few.
The Bombay High Court today directed a lower court to proceed with the trial against actor Sooraj Pancholi, accused of abetting the suicide of his actor girlfriend Jiah Khan in 2013. A division bench of Justices R M Savant and Sandeep Shinde was hearing a petition filed by Jiah’s mother Rabia Khan seeking appointment of advocate Dinesh Tiwari as special public prosecutor in the matter.
Rabia in her petition claimed that she did not want the prosecuting agency CBI’s counsel to conduct the trial on behalf of the prosecution as she did not agree with the CBI’s conclusion that Jiah had committed suicide. Rabia has been claiming that Jiah was murdered by Sooraj.

What Sidharth Malhotra Has to Say About Kamaal Khan

Actor Sidharth Malhotra reacted strongly when Kamaal R Khan made a derogatory comment about his Kapoor And Sons co-star Alia Bhatt recently. And now the actor says that he is open to criticism for his films, but not if someone gets personal and cheap.

“I think everybody is responsible and has a number of followers and he has that too. He is entitled to criticise our movies but when he gets personal and cheap at times, it’s not called for and that’s it,” Sidharth told IANS when asked about his take on social media trolls and what made him react strongly on Kamaal’s comment.

Sidharth and Alia took to Twitter last month to post the cover photograph of a magazine, in which they are seen wearing swimwear. Kamaal made a rather offensive comment to which Sidharth reacted strongly.

Sidharth walked the ramp for designer Kunal Rawal at the Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai on April 2.

When Sidharth was asked how he takes up all the social media trolls including this latest incidence, Sidharth said: “I don’t want to give any more energy or interest because it will add to his negative thoughts. I think that’s about it. ”

“I was expecting clothes to be loud and military but he surprised me. He was the only guy who convinced me to wear earrings,” said Sidharth.

Review: Kapoor & Sons Centers on an Indian Family’s Flaws

Kapoor & Sons – Since 1921 isn’t about the dynastic family of Hindi movie directors, actors and producers. But it does star one of them, Rishi Kapoor (son of Raj, father of Ranbir), who heavily (and skillfully) made up plays Dadu, the about-to-be-90 paterfamilias of a clan made unhappy by the usual secrets and lies and long-cherished grudges.

Directed by Shakun Batra, the movie starts as a comedy of family dysfunction. Dadu, who enjoys playacting his death, has a real heart attack. That brings home – to Coonoor, a hill station in the Tamil Nadu state of India – his diasporic grandsons: Rahul, a successful novelist from London, and Arjun, an aspiring novelist from New Jersey. Arjun (Sidharth Malhotra), angry at his brother for stealing his ideas, feels like a chronic also-ran, and with good reason. Rahul (Fawad Khan) is frequently proclaimed the perfect son by his mother.

That older generation has its own agita. Papa (Rajat Kapoor, but not one of those Kapoors) has money trouble, and all signs point to him having an affair. Mama (Ratna Pathak) is restless and angry.

Batra, whose previous films include Ek Main aur Ekk Tu, has a naturalist’s feel for character and situations that’s unusual in mainstream Bollywood. Even though Kapoor & Sons goes from lightly comic to more darkly dramatic to pretty overtly melodramatic, it never loses its lived-in quality or plunges into the absurd.

That’s a tribute to its actors, who make their characters’ wounds palpable but don’t play them too broadly. (Rishi Kapoor, though, has a high old hammy time as the pot-smoking, porn-approving, a-little-too-cute Dadu.) It’s also a tribute to Batra and Ayesha Devitre Dhillon, with whom he wrote the script. They know how to press the story without pressing it too hard.

It helps that the movie plays against expectations, if gently. The foreign-returned grandsons here aren’t swaggering wheeler-dealers in need of lessons about humility and home. They’re writers who need to repair relations with their family. Rahul’s secret is also a bit unusual for Hindi movies, and though you may guess it early, it plays out in a mostly satisfying way. When I saw the movie, the audience rewarded it with Bollywood’s gold standard of approval: tears, and a few hoots.

Sidharth Malhotra Named as Tourism New Zealand’s Indian Ambassador

Bollywood actor Sidharth Malhotra has been named as the first Indian ambassador of Tourism New Zealand, which promotes New Zealand as a tourism destination.

Sidharth is excited to embark on a visit to the picturesque land to experience its diverse landscapes, culture and adventure activities. During his trip, he will be visiting both the North and South Islands.

“I’ve heard from my friends about the many activities that New Zealand has to offer and I’m very excited for this trip. I’m a traveller who believes in experiencing everything that a destination offers and New Zealand has so much to offer,” Sidharth said in a statement.

“I am gearing up for activities like skydiving, sky walking and diving. I can’t wait to experience the local wildlife in New Zealand. I have also heard extensively about the food and wine, Maori culture and other unique experiences that the country offers,” he added.

The actor is also keen on interacting with some of his fans during his trip to New Zealand, which is replete with spectacular landscapes – from vast mountain ranges, steaming volcanoes to sweeping coastlines.

Officials at Tourism New Zealand are also trying to ensure that Sidharth has an experience of a lifetime.

“Sidharth is young and dynamic, and extremely keen to experience New Zealand’s offerings. From adventure activities to food and wine experiences, local culture to luxury indulgence, New Zealand is gearing up to surprise Sidharth at every step of his journey.
