Simran box office collection day 7: Kangana Ranaut film has to face Sanjay Dutt‘s much-anticipated come back movie Bhoomi, also starring Aditi Rao Hydari, Haseena Parkar starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s Newton. So far, the film has made Rs 14.47 crore.
Simran starring Kangana Ranaut has collected Rs 14.47 crore on the end of day 6. In contradiction to the recent reports doing the rounds, Sanjay Dutt‘s comeback film Bhoomi has been approved by the CBFC with no major cuts, as confirmed by producer Sandeep Singh. Speculations about the film getting as much as 13 major cuts by the CBFC were doing the rounds on Thursday.

Since this film is a family drama, and Sanjay Dutt’s comeback film, we want to make sure that everyone comes and watches our film. About the number of cuts in the film, I am not sure how many cuts are there. I don’t know where this ‘thirteen major cuts’ tag came from, I haven’t kept a count. Whatever cuts are there, it’s minor and doesn’t affect the film’s story. We are expecting the certificate today.”

On being asked about the teaser that released years ago for Munna Bhai Chale America and if the film would be on the lines of the teaser, Sanjay Dutt who is busy promoting Bhoomi, said, “No, I don’t think so. Since I can’t get an American Visa, it’s not going to happen.”
Sanjay Dutt, who has started promoting his comeback movie Bhoomi, on Saturday said scripting of the next Munna Bhai series is in progress but it will not be on the lines of Munna Bhai Chale America.
Dutt, who was present for the promotional interviews of Bhoomi, was asked about the teaser released years ago for Munna Bhai Chale America and if the film would be on the lines of the teaser, Sanjay said, “No, I don’t think so. Since I can’t get an American Visa, it’s not going to happen.”

Omung Kumar recently revealed the first looks of Sanjay Dutt starrer The Good Maharaja and it is redefining elegance. Wearing a turban loaded with ornaments, Sanjay’s dress-up looks fresh and intriguing, partly because we have never seen Sanjay play a regal character before.

After wrapping up the shoots of Bhoomi, actor Sanjay Dutt is already on to his next project. And this time, he is slaying in a regal avatar as revealed in the first look of his upcoming film The Good Maharaja. Director Omung Kumar shared the poster on Twitter late Wednesday and let us tell you, Sanjay Dutt looks nothing less than pure royalty in this historic saga.

The Good Maharaja is a biopic on the life and works of Maharaja Jam Sahib Digvijaysinhji Ranjitsinhji, who was the ruler of Nawanagar during the British rule. He was famous for providing refuge to hundreds of abandoned Polish children during World War II. The title – The Good Maharaja – sounds interesting and makes us wonder if the film will narrate the time the Maharaja devoted to accomplishing good deeds in his life.

Sanjay Dutt’s Book Salaakhen Will Have 500 Sher He Wrote in Jail

Actor Sanjay Dutt, who recently walked out of jail after completing his sentence in an arms case related to the 1993 Mumbai blasts, revealed that he wrote over 500 sher (couplets) while in prison. The actor plans to release the poetry collection in form of book titled Salaakhen.

“I wrote something. And I will release the book, Salaakhen. We will show it to some people. Me along with, Zeishan Qureshi, Sameer Hingle (inmates) and wrote 500 sher they were with me in radio station. It is all in Hindi,” Mr Dutt said.

The Munna Bhai actor said out of the 500 couplets, he has written about 100 couplets and has also described some of the real life instances like the one when his wife, Maanyata visited him in jail.

“Out of the 500 sher I must have written 100 or so. At times I feel surprised that have I actually written this. I remember my wife had come to meet me once and she had fever and still she came to see me. I insisted she should come to meet me. I felt very bad after seeing her,” he said.

“Then I wrote a sher – Aankhon mein nami thi, badan tap raha tha, phir bhi hoton pe hasi thi aur baaton mein pyaar tha. Aapko dekh ke dukh hua par khushi bhi hui, ussi khushi ke saath paigam bhi tha ke aap mujhse mohabbat karte ho.”

But writing is not something that actor is willing to take up permanently and he is waiting eagerly to get back to the routine life of ‘lights, camera, action’.

“Let me be with my family. I want to be with them for some time. I missed working. I missed light, sound, camera, action flashes and all,” Sanjay Dutt said.

Though Sanjay Dutt is yet to talk about the films he would be doing, it is confirmed that he will is working in director Siddharth Anand’s next, an action drama which is likely to go on floors this summer. This is most likely to be the first film that Mr Dutt will shoot after his release.

He will be seen in the third installment of much-loved Rajkumar Hirani-helmed Munna Bhai series.

Mr Dutt’s close friend, director Rajkumar Hirani is also currently working on the biopic which stars Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role.

Director Indra Kumar also plans to make the third part of the Dhamaal franchise with the actor.

Sanjay Dutt Told me Never Give Up, Says Wife Maanyata

Actor Sanjay Dutt, who was released from the Yerawada jail after serving his sentence in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case, had told his wife that his motto was not to give up.

“I used to have zillions of tensions but when I used to see him. I remember the first meeting (after he went to jail) he said. ‘In my school, I have learnt never give up, it’s my motto. I will survive here, you survive outside’,” Maanyata told the press.

She said the fact that he has returned home would take some time for her to sink in.

“I will need some time and space to come to terms with the fact that he is back home,” she said.

Sanjay Dutt said his wife suffered more than him.

“I think she was suffering more as she had to be at home. Bring up kids. Look after them, take decisions. I was in jail,” he said.

But Maanyata disagreed. “I don’t think I have suffered more,” she said.

Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani is making a biopic on Mr Dutt in which Ranbir Kapoor is playing the title role.

Asked to comment on Ranbir playing him, Mr Dutt said, “I love him.”

The 56-year-old actor also wished Salman Khan ‘great success’ in his career. Salman was recently sent a notice by the Supreme Court, asking why his acquittal by the Bombay High Court should not be overturned in the 2002 hit-and-run case.

“Salman is like my younger brother. I always pray for him and hope his problems get resolved. I wish he becomes a bigger star,” he added.
