Shraddha Kapoor is steadily climbing the ladder of success, as far as films in Bollywood is concerned. With Aashiqui 2 and Ek Villain, both hits, Kapoor is now among filmmakers’ favourites. And the actor seems to have come to terms with the fact that with fame, comes a lot of responsibility, too.

Shraddha, who has been roped in to play a part in the film Rock On 2, a sequel to the 2008 Rock On, is currently in Shillong on a recce, along with the production team. She has given up on family time, vacations, and all else to prioritise work, and has accompanied the Excel Entertainment guys to Meghalaya.

Rock On 2: Will Pernia Qureshia rock it?

Alia Bhatt and Shraddha Kapoor were the first choices for the new band member in the all-boys band in the Rock On!! sequel.

But the dates didn’t work and the hunt for a new face started in three countries (Mirror, December 19, 2014). Now Mirror has learnt that fashion designer and actress Pernia Qureshia recently auditioned for the role along with 160 other girls. Confirming this, Pernia who makes her acting debut in Muzaffar Ali’s period drama, Jaanisar, in which she plays a courtesan, says, “Yes, I have auditioned for the film. It’s not the role of Farhan’s (Akhtar) wife played by Prachi (Desai). It’s a new role and I have my fingers crossed.”
