It is confirmed. Ranveer Singh is the actor who will be playing the legendary Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev in a biopic which will be helmed by Kabir Khan. Trade guru Taran Adarsh on Monday morning shared the news on his Twitter account.

Kapil Dev, the then Indian cricket team captain, lifted the World Cup at the majestic Lords’ in London. India played West Indies in the finals and beat the World Champs to get the coveted trophy home for the first time.

Have bought Junior NTR’s Temper rights but it’s not a remake:Rohit Shetty on film with Ranveer Singh

Rohit Shetty and Ranveer Singh have worked last year during a brand endorsement film. Recently the two announced their first film together, an action movie. Rohit has now confirmed that portions of the film will be inspired from Junior NTR’s hit Telugu film Temper.

Spilling the beans on his upcoming maiden collaboration with actor Ranveer Singh, director Rohit Shetty has shared that the movie will feature a few scenes from Junior NTR’s Temper. Rohit has already acquired the rights of the Telugu hit film.

The filmmaker, however, refuses to call his untitled movie a remake of Temper and asserts that it’s just the idea that he has borrowed from the action film.

We’d like to think the reaction was prompted by Amitabh Bachchan‘s tweets:

Mr Bachchan was thoroughly impressed with Ranveer’s portrayal of Peshwa Bajirao in Baajirao Mastani. He earlier tweeted:

Deepika Reveals What’s ‘Never Going to Change’ Between Ranveer and Her

Actress Deepika Padukone has never actually acknowledged that she’s dating her Bajirao Mastani co-star Ranveer Singh and that’s not going to change any time soon. She does admit, however, that he’s an ‘extremely important part of (her) life.’

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Deepika said: “I have never commented on anything before, so I wouldn’t say anything even now. He is someone who has always been and will always be an extremely important part of my life. That’s never going to change.”

If she won’t confirm a romance, she’s hardly going to comment on rumours of trouble. “Well, there’s nothing to respond to because as I said, I have never responded to such sort of things and I don’t plan to do the same anytime soon,” Deepika said to a question on whether the probable couple had hit a rocky patch.

Asked if the curiosity about her private life bothers her, Deepika said: “Not at all. I always feel it’s about what you make of certain situations, and your perspective to certain things. One person’s perspective on something doesn’t necessarily need to be mine too. And that’s the way I’ve looked at anything that has come my way. I never encourage any speculation or negativity.”

News reports in June stated that the Bajirao Mastani co-stars were expected to leave for a vacation together, where they would also be joined by their families.

Deepika and Ranveer, both 30, have been spotted together several times in the past with pictures of the two often making the rounds of social media. In March this year, Deepika attended a friend’s wedding in Sri Lanka with Ranveer by her side.

On June 20, Deepika left for Madrid to attend the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards. She was looked chic and smart at the Mumbai airport.

Deepika wrapped filming xXx: The Return of Xander in May and then shot a song for Dinesh Vijan’s Raabta. She has not signed a Bollywood film yet. Meanwhile, Ranveer is busy filming Befikre, which also stars Vaani Kapoor.

It’s Showtime: Ranveer, Vaani Kiss ‘Again’ in New Befikre Poster

Actor Ranveer Singh shared a new poster of his upcoming film Befikre on social media on Thursday. Soon after the poster was made available, #Befikre started trending on Twitter.

Befikre, directed by Aditya Chopra, also stars actress Vaani Kapoor.

Ranveer, who made his debut in Bollywood with Yash Raj Films’ Band Baaja Baaraat in 2010, has featured in films like Ladies vs Ricky Bahl, Lootera, Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela and Bajirao Mastani. Vaani, on the other hand, made her debut in Bollywood with 2013′s Shuddh Desi Romance.

Aditya Chopra will be directing a film after 2008′s Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. Befikre was announced on his father Yash Chopra’s 83rd birth anniversary.

Befikre is scheduled to release on December 9.
