Rajkumar Hirani Wants to Direct Amitabh Bachchan

“I would love to direct him (Amitabh Bachchan). I have a script. I am working on it hopefully by the year-end I will be done. Then I will approach him,” he told reporters at an event.

“I did direct him in two advertisements. I did feel hesitate to tell him anything but he is good at what he does. It is difficult to direct him but I am looking forward to work with him,” the 52-year-old PK director added.

Rajkumar Hirani was speaking at the teaser launch event for Wazir, which he has co-produced with Vidhu Vinod Chopra. The film has been directed by Bejoy Nambiar.

“I am a big fan of him (Mr Bachchan). As a child I used to speak like him, get clothes stitched like him, listened to his father’s poems that he recited. I remember when he came to my place he did recite his father’s poems and I have recorded that and kept it. It is a precious possession. It is a joy to hear it,” the 3 Idiots director added.

He also revealed that he would soon start work on his next film – a biopic on Sanjay Dutt. “I am still writing the script. We are working on it. Next year we will shoot,” he said.

Of rumours that Deepika Padukone will be acting in this film, he said, “As of now I have only spoken to Ranbir, not met anyone yet for the casting.”

Parts of Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘PK’, which questions people’s blind faith in godmen, were shot at Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s ashram premises. When the filmmaker was questioned as to why he has thanked the spiritual leader in his film’s credits, he says he’s “only against fake gurus”.

Significant portions of Hirani’s latest directorial, which has seen a string of controversies, have been shot at Ravi Shankar’s Art of Living Foundation ashram in Bengaluru.

The director and the makers are thankful to Ravi Shankar for understanding the importance of the subject and letting them shoot the film in the ashram premises.

Aamir Khan launches first song ‘Tharki chokro’ from PK

Superstar Aamir Khan and film-maker Rajkumar Hirani launched the first song of their upcoming biggie PK at a multiplex in Noida on Saturday.

Aamir was at his cordial best, patiently obliging the media shutterbugs, but his heroine Anushka Sharma and co-star Sushant Singh Rajput were kept away from this phase of the film’s promotion.

The song in question, Tharki chhokro, is a peppy folk number with Rajasthani strains, and struck a chord with those present at the launch. Ajay-Atul, who shot to fame as the composers of Agneepath, have composed the song penned by Swanand Kirkire.

First look: New Anushka Sharma for Aamir’s PK

As is the case with an Aamir Khan film, PK, too, is living up to its predecessors as far as the mystery and secrecy quotient is concerned. After Aamir’s almost-nude transistor poster was released, the film had received a considerable amount of buzz from both within the industry and outside. However, apart from Aamir, the looks of the other actors in the film – Anushka Sharma and Sushant Singh Rajput – hadn’t been revealed yet. That is, until now.

According to photos doing the rounds of the internet, Anushka Sharma is in a short-haired avatar in PK. The actress, who is famous for her long, straight locks, was required to cut her hair short for Rajkumar Hirani’s PK, but she wasn’t able to due to her other film commitments. Sharma, apart from PK, is working in Bombay Velvet and NH10 as well, and hence, chose to don a wig for PK.
