Why Mohit Suri Finds it Difficult to Cast Cousin Alia Bhatt in His Films

Mohit Suri, known for directing hit films like Kalyug, Aashiqui 2 and Ek Villain, says he is a huge fan of his little cousin sister Alia Bhatt. However the director finds it difficult to cast the actress in his films.

Mohit was present at the Renault Star Guild Awards 2015 on Sunday.

On being asked about his plans for working with Alia, Mohit said: “Well, I am a huge fan of my little sister Alia Bhatt. I think whenever I meet, I’m actually like forget that she is my cousin and I start getting onto a whole struggling director mode with her.

“She is someone who I think is not only a big star, but one of the most emotional actresses I’ve ever seen of our time. And that’s what makes it so difficult. I find a role very difficult to give her, because I’ve to live up to her,” added Mohit.

On the work front, Mohit is currently busy with Hamari Adhuri Kahani, which stars Vidya Balan and Emraan Hashmi in the lead roles.

‘Ek Villain‘ director Mohit Suri and his actress wife Udita Goswami became the proud parents of a baby daughter.

The couple, who tied the knot early last year, welcomed their bundle of joy.

Mahesh Bhatt, who is the uncle of Mohit, took to Twitter to share the news.

Mohit Suri has directed popular films like Aashiqui 2, Murder 2 and Kalyug. He also collaborated with Mahesh Bhatt in films like Zeher and Kalyug.

If you wanted more reasons to wait for Chetan Bhagat’s newest book, here’s one. Filmmaker Mohit Suri is set to direct the on-screen adaptation of the book, confirmed Bhagat Sunday, on Twitter.

Suri, who’s known for his films like ‘Ek Villain‘, ‘Kalyug’ and ‘Woh Lamhe’, will start shooting for this film next year, after he finishes ‘Humari Adhuri Kahani’ and the remake of ‘Intouchables’.
