First Look: Irrfan Khan as Jazbaa’s Suspended Cop

Days after revealing the first poster of Jazbaa featuring actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, director Sanjay Gupta has made public a second poster, this one with actor Irrfan Khan.

Irrfan, fresh from his triumph in the Shoojit Sircar-directed Piku, plays a suspended cop in the film.

Sanjay Gupta is of the opinion – some may not agree – that he has given the 48-year-old actor a ‘makeover’ in the film.

Jazbaa is Aishwarya Rai Bachchan‘s first film since 2010′s Guzaarish. She plays a lawyer in the movie which also co-stars Shabana Azmi and Anupam Kher.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s Jazbaa to Feature Cameo by Abhishek

Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta’s action film Jazbaa is special in many ways. It not only marks the comeback of actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, but also features her husband, actor Abhishek Bachchan in a special appearance.

The film’s director took to micro-blogging site Twitter to share the news.

The couple showed their chemistry in the film Guru, which garnered plaudits. And in Mani Ratnam’s Raavan, which failed to sizzle at the box office.

Earlier, Mr Gupta used the social media platform to announce the release date of the film which also stars Irrfan Khan, Shabana Azmi, Abhimanyu Singh and Atul Kulkarni. Jazbaa film is set to release on October 9.

Mumbai: Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta is a ‘pro’ prankster for sure. He seems to have made the most of April Fool’s day by cooking up a believable story! And we all believed it to be true!

The filmmaker had tweeted Wednesday that his next – Jazbaa – Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s comeback vehicle will see her real life spouse Abhishek making a special appearance in the film.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has started shooting her comeback film ‘Jazbaa’, an action-thriller directed by Sanjay Gupta.

The ‘Guzaarish’ star, who is returning to the silver screen after a gap of five years, will share the screen space with Irrfan, Shabana Azmi and Anupam Kher.

Gupta took to Twitter to share the picture of the 41-year-old actress from the sets. In the picture, the mother of one is donning a black leather jacket with her hair tied in a high ponytail as she looks at a computer in a laboratory.

‘Jazbaa’ is said to be a remake of the South Korean film ‘Seven Days’.

Sanjay Gupta’s ‘Jazbaa’ that marks Aishwarya Rai Bachchan‘s comeback to Bollywood will go on the floor in January 2015. What’s interesting is that the movie that also has Irrfan, Shabana Azmi and Anupam Kher, is part of a multi-film deal between Gupta’s White Feather Films and Essel Vision Productions Ltd (EVPL), the creative and production studio of Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL).

Sanjay Gupta gifts Jazbaa teaser to Aish on her 41st birthday

Aishwarya Rai, who turned 41 Saturday, has many special things to look forward to. While her family has been ensuring to make it a memorable birthday, Sanjay Gupta, the director of “Jazbaa”, toiled to put together a premature teaser trailer of her movie.

“It was an idea that came to me very late. Why not put together a three-minute teaser of ‘Jazbaa’ and present it to her. I made sure she didn’t get to know about it as a I slogged for 18 hours a day to get it ready in time,” Gupta said.
