Emraan Hashmi feels there are many people who are doing noteworthy things in their lives but are never acknowledged. In an exclusive chat with indianexpress.com the Baadshaho actor said there is nothing great about acting in movies.
Emraan Hashmi who plays a sassy mavali Daliya in Milan Luthria’s multi-starrer Baadshaho feels there is nothing grand about acting in the movies. The actor feels there are many others who are doing noteworthy things in their lives but are never acknowledged. In an exclusive chat with indianexpress.com, Emraan said, “There is nothing grand about what we are doing. I think the most prominent people are those who don’t get written about. They are the ones who accomplish something in their lives. Ours is only a high profile job.” Taking his point further, he added, “I don’t think anyone should use us as their role models. And if they have to be fans of someone they should be fans of themselves.”

The film has courted a fair share of controversies with Nargis reportedly upset with how her character has shaped up in the films and Sangeeta upset with her portrayal overall.

Hamari Adhuri Kahani set to cross Rs 20 cr mark

Mohit Suri’s latest release Hamari Adhuri Kahani, might have opened to a slow start at the box office, but the film has managed to rake in Rs 19.52 crore in four days of its release.

Slowly and steadily moving up at the box office, the collection have gone up on Saturday and Sunday.

The Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan starrer even had an outstanding hold on Monday. The movie collected Rs 3.03 crore on Monday, taking the total nett at the box office to Rs 19.52 crore.

Hamari Adhuri Kahani collections: Tepid Day 2 for Emraan-Vidya

Hamari Adhuri Kahani, which hit the theatres June 12, has had two slow days at the box office. Starring Emraan Hashmi, Vidya Balan and Rajkummar Rao, this Mohit Suri directorial opened to Rs 5.04 crore business in India. And if early estimates are to be believed, the Saturday figures, too, aren’t any better.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh had tweeted the opening-day collections of Hamari Adhuri Kahani:

According to early figures, the Saturday collections of Hamari Adhuri Kahani are somewhere around Rs 5 core. Added to the Friday collections, the total earnings of the film right now stand somewhere around Rs 10.04 crore. The official figures are yet to come in, though.

Hamari Adhuri Kahani sees Emraan and Vidya reunite on the silver screen for the third time. Earlier, the two had delivered a hit with The Dirty Picture, while Ghanchakkar had turned out to be a flop, commercially.

Today’s Big Release: Hamari Adhuri Kahani

Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan’s story of illicit love, Hamari Adhuri Kahani, releases today. Directed by Mohit Suri, the movie also stars National Award-winning actor Rajkummar Rao, as the third point of the triangle. The romantic drama is loosely based on the lives of producer Mahesh Bhatt’s parents and stepmother.

After playing an aspiring detective in Bobby Jasoos, Vidya will appear in the role of a wife torn between her husband and her lover.

The title track of the movie, sung by Arijit Singh, has already garnered a fan following.

Meanwhile, big budget Hollywood film Jurassic World, fourth in the Jurassic Park movies, released yesterday. Directed by Colin Trevorrow, the sci-fi drama is set on Isla Nublar, the same location as Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park but 22 years later. The movie features a newly constructed biological preserve with a zoo and a theme park housing living dinosaurs.

Other than actors Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Vincent D’Onofrio, Ty Simpkins, Nick Robinson, BD Wong, and Omar Sy, the movie also stars Irrfan Khan who plays the role of park owner Simon Masrani.

Main Azhar, Emraan Hashmi Introduces Himself in Azharuddin Biopic Teaser

The teaser of forthcoming film Azhar, which will give a glimpse into the life of former Indian cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin, was launched by the film’s lead actor Emraan Hashmi on Monday. He introduces himself as “Main Azhar” in it.

In the teaser, the actor guides viewers through Azharuddin’s life from being a famed cricketer to being termed a traitor. The magic of Emraan’s voice backs the trailer, without giving a visual glimpse of the actor, whose look as Azhar was earlier revealed via a poster of the film.

Hamari Adhuri Kahani: Rajkummar the ‘ex-factor’ between Vidya and Emraan

National Award winning actor Rajkummar Rao, who plays Vidya Balan’s on-screen husband in Hamari Adhuri Kahani, is the “ex-factor” in the romance between Vidya and Emraan Hashmi, says the film’s director Mohit Suri.

“Rajkummar Rao is one of the most exciting talents in the industry today. He plays Vidya’s husband in the film. He is the ‘ex-factor’ of Humari Adhuri Kahani,” Suri said.

“He brings such dimension to the romance in the film between Emraan and Vidya that without him, the story wouldn’t be as heart-wrenching as it has turned out to be. He is the powerful reason behind the unrequited love that is the soul of the film,” added Suri, who is credited with films like Aashiqui 2 and Ek Villain.

Emraan Hashmi’s Mr. X earns Rs.13.99 cr in the opening weekend

Emraan Hashmi’s latest offering Mr X might have been panned by the critics but the sci-fi drama has able to earn Rs.13.99 crore in the opening weekend. A tale of an invisible man taking on the baddies in Mr. X has done average business at the box-office in the opening weekend.

The film managed to collect only Rs.4.50 crore on Friday, which further dipped on Saturday as the film was able to make only Rs.4.39. However, the film did good business on Sunday by raking in Rs.5.1 crore.

Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the film’s box-office collection in the opening weekend.

Vidya Balan, Emraan Hashmi to Shoot in Cape Town?

Actors Vidya Balan and Emraan Hashmi will reportedly start shooting in Cape Town, South Africa, for Humari Adhuri Kahaani from next month.
The film was slated to go on floors in the summer of 2014, but it has now been postponed to October.
“Vidya Balan and Emraan Hashmi will start shooting for Humari Adhuri Kahaani from October and the first schedule will be widely shot in Cape Town (South Africa) and the second schedule will take place in Dubai,”
