National Awards: Complete List of Winners

The acclaimed period piece Bajirao Mastani swept the National Awards – announced on Monday – with wins for its director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Best Supporting Actress for Tanvi Azmi, among other awards.

Amitabh Bachchan won Best Actor for Piku – his fourth National Award – and Kangana Ranaut won Best Actress for Tanu Weds Manu Returns. This was the 29-year-old actress’ third National Award win after last year’s Best Actress National Award for Queen and 2009′s Best Supporting Actress National Award for Fashion.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan: A treat for Salman Khan fans on June 5

The first song of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan‘s upcoming action-drama film Bajrangi Bhaijaan will be out with the Zoya Akhtar directorial Dil Dhadakne Do on June 5. The teaser of the Salman-starrer, which released on May 28, has already received an overwhelming response. So far, it has been viewed over a million times.

The first song, titled Le le le, is expected to take the excitement level further. “It is an extremely vibrant song and since Dil Dhadakne Do is a big film, we have attached the song to it,” a spokesperson of Bajrangi Bhaijaan said in a statement.

The music of the film, which also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Ali Quli Mirza and Deepti Naval, has been composed by Pritam Chakraborty. The film is slated for an Eid release.

As Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Salman Khan is a Hanuman Devotee and Man on a Mission

As promised, the trailer of actor Salman Khan‘s upcoming film Bajrangi Bhaijaan has been released on micro-blogging site Twitter. It arrived in a whirlwind of hashtags, which have been trending these last two days.

In the minute-and-a-half clip, director Kabir Khan reveals the broad outline of the story – Salman, a devotee of Lord Hanuman, has vowed to help a little girl ‘without a voice’ find her way home to Pakistan, with a little help from Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

Thus the journey begins. The teaser is packed with Salman Khan-style stunts, romance, dance and humour.

The film, also starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, has been shot in New Delhi and in Kashmir.

‘Dabangg’ Salman Khan is currently ruling the social media with his upcoming release ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan‘ (BB). A day after Shah Rukh Khan shared the first look of his film on Twitter and later Aamir joined in too—the superstar himself took to the micro-blogging site and thanked his buddies for extending their support.

The 49-year-old actor took to Twitter and shared with his fans the news of ‘BB’ teaser releasing tonight. Salman posted: “Bajrangi Bhaijaan ka namaste, aapko! #BBTeaserTonight @BBThisEid”

Shah Rukh, Aamir Reveal First Look of Salman Khan as Bajrangi Bhaijaan

The Khans are all friends now and the first semi-look of Salman as Bajrangi Bhaijaan has been revealed not by the actor himself but by Shah Rukh. Aamir, who’s always been buddies with Salman, followed suit.

Aamir tweeted the picture as well, captioning it with “Coming soon.”

Salman was photographed finishing up filming in Kashmir in a black pathan suit but he wears a brown sweater in this first look, a silver pendant around his neck.

SRK and Salman, both 49, renewed their friendship last November after a six-year long feud that they conducted publicly.

Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan Trailer to Release With Tanu Weds Manu Returns

The trailer of Bajrangi Bhaijaan, the first of actor Salman Khan‘s two films this year, will release with Kangana Ranaut‘s new film Tanu Weds Manu Returns on May 22.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan, co-starring Kareena Kapoor, is currently being shot in Kashmir. Salman flew home to Mumbai yesterday to appear in court for today’s verdict in the hit-and-run case. The actor was found guilty of drunkenly driving over five pavement dwellers in 2002, killing one. He was convicted on the charge of culpable homicide not amounting to murder and sentenced to five years in jail.

The Kabir Khan-directed film is expected to release on July 17. Salman’s other film is Sooraj Barjatya’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, with actress Sonam Kapoor, which has been shooting near Rajkot in Gujarat.

Salman Khan’s ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’s Kashmir schedule postponed due to fresh floods

The shooting location of Salman Khan’s upcoming movie ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, as reported earlier, was supposed to be shifted to Kashmir for completing the concluding 30% of the film, but the flood situation in Kashmir has forced the makers to put the shoot on hold. Director Kabir Khan had decided to finish off the shoot of the remaining scenes in a span of 40 days.

After last year, Kashmir has faced yet another flood situation, wherein the Jhelum River has crossed the mark due to continuous rains which has affected areas like Srinagar. The police have started rescue operations and have alerted people living around the area to re-locate.

If you are waiting for Bajrangi Bhaijaan for your favourite Kareena Kapoor Khan then you are in for a disappointment.

As per the latest buzz, Bebo’s role in the film is not beoynd a 15 to 20 minute appearance. She will reportedly will only be seen in the beginning and climax of the film and the whole focus will be on Salman Khan.

The film is about a little girl and her bhaijaan (Salman). Bajrangi Bhaijaan is about a little girl from Pakistan who loses her way at the Indo-Pak border and finds herself in India.

According to a DNA report, it has been revealed that Salman Khan‘s upcoming film, Bajrangi Bhaijaan is not about ‘love jihad’ at all. While the film has been embroiled in controversies over its title, the report claims that the film doesn’t veer towards the topic of ‘love jihad’ at all. It has been revealed that Bajrangi Bhaijaan is about a little Pakistani girl who loses her way at the Indo-Pak border and finds herself in India. A source has been quoted in the report as saying that Salman plays the man who finds the little girl on this side of the border and takes it on himself to re-unite her with her parents and family in Pakistan.The report further states that Kareena Kapoor Khan will be seen only at the beginning and towards the end of the film, with a total screen time of not more that 30 minutes. The source also adds that Salman’s character, who is known as Bajrangi Bhaijaan, becomes as attached to the little girl as Salman himself.

Salman Khan Surprises School Children on the Sidelines of Bajrangi Bhaijaan Shoot

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan recently surprised students of a school, near Madawa when he visited their school and interacted with them.

The actor is currently shooting for director Kabir Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan in Mandawa, a small town in Rajasthan’s Jhunjhunu district. The film also stars actress Kareena Kapoor.

Former Minister of State for Tourism and Cultural Affairs of Rajasthan, Bina Kak, shared the images on social networking site Facebook and wrote, “School children with Bhai.”

The actress, who has played the role of Salman’s mother in his film Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya, further wrote, “Salman pays a surprise visit to a nearby school where he was shooting.”
