Shweta Tripathi’s starrer ‘Zoo’ which is directed by Shlok Sharma is selected for “A window on Asian Cinema” category at the Busan Film festival. The film is entirely shot on iPhone 6 making it India’d film feature film to be completely shot on the device and the film is produced by Anurag Kashyap.
Excited for the world premiere of her next film ‘Zoo’ — entirely shot on an iPhone 6 — at the Busan Film Festival, actor Shweta Tripathi, says experimental cinema was always her cup of tea.
‘Zoo’, directed by Shlok Sharma and produced by Anurag Kashyap, is selected for ‘A window on Asian Cinema’ category at the Busan Festival to be held in October.
The film, also featuring Shashank Arora, explores lives of teenagers who are drug addicts.

Anurag Kashyap: No Bigger Loss For Me Than Losing Kalki Koechlin

He handles complex relationships with a rare finesse and ease on reel, but in real life, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap doesn’t hesitate to admit he’s “not good at relationships”. Almost two years after separating from Kalki Koechlin, he says there was “no bigger loss” for him.

“Kalki is a great actress. What happened between us, why we went separate ways… all that remains between us. But she gave me six years of her life. I respect her for what she is; she really changed my life. Even if she left me, it’s because the shortcoming is in me… I am not good at relationships,” Anurag said.

That’s quite a paradox considering how he manages to handle complex relationships on screen. On being asked about the same, Anurag said “Yes, but perhaps as they say… the man who makes people laugh, is often the saddest. So, maybe it’s just a case of that…Every person has a weakness and strength… But yes, for me, there is no bigger loss that Kalki is not with me today.”

‘Bombay Velvet’ went around before coming to Ranbir Kapoor: Anurag Kashyap

Director Anurag Kashyap approached actors like Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Hrithik Roshan for his ambitious period drama ‘Bombay Velvet’ before it finally landed with Ranbir Kapoor.

The director said he needed a big star to raise money for his big-budget film. Also, starring Anushka Sharma and Karan Johar, the film is currently in post production.

Based on author Gyan Prakash’s book, Mumbai Fables, ‘Bombay Velvet‘ chronicles the story of how the city became a metropolis. The Bombay of 1950s and ’60s recreated in Sri Lanka. Anurag now plans to release it in May next year.

Gangs of Wasseypur director Anurag Kashyap says the guilt of not spending enough time with his daughter and the fear of losing her inspired the story of his upcoming emotional thriller Ugly.

Ugly is about the kidnapping of a young girl, which unravels the complex interpersonal relationships of various characters in the film.

The 42-year-old filmmaker, who has a daughter from first wife Aarti Bajaj, said the film is a culmination of many personal and real-life experiences and incidents.
