Actor Ajay Devgn will be seen fighting goons with a tad bit of martial arts and desi punches. The movie includes some catchy dialogues like “Main ek hi baar bolta hun, kyunki dusri baar sunne ke liye tu nahi hoga. It’s my way or the sky way”, “pasand aya toh dil mein, varna dimaag mein bhi nahi” and “Na commitment, na appointment, only punishment.” Also, the intense actor took to some serious dance moves in the movie rather seamlessly. His co-star is actress Sonakshi Sinha. Action Jackson also stars Yami Gautam and Manasvi Mamgai in pivotal roles.

And we are back to the ’80s! Remember the spate of sloppy Bollywood potboilers – revenge sagas with incongruous narratives, vicious villains, vile vamps and cringe-worthy situations? Prabhu Dheva’s ‘Action Jackson’ has all of that.
Prabhu Dheva is a pro at belting out action films with Southern-style flavouring – his signature dance moves, slo-mo action sequences and add to it a quintessential Bollywood hero like Salman Khan or Akshay Kumar and we have the perfect formula for box office success.

However, Ajay Devgn seems completely out of place trying to pull-off Prabhu Dheva’s pelvic thrusts. Every time Ajay takes his hand to the belt to attempt a classic Prabhu step, he looks uncomfortable, as if cringing deep inside and we died a little when a completely superficial song and dance number started playing on screen. Were the songs on autoplay, embedded without thought or concern?

The makers of ‘Action Jackson’ are excited that the different looks of Ajay Devgn and the film’s music have generated buzz among the audience. While we’ve seen the actor dance to the songs ‘Keeda’ and ‘Punjabi Mast’, the recently-released theme track, AJ, also features director Prabhu Dheva.

A source associated with the film says, “It is an energetic number in which Prabhu sir has performed novel moves in freestyle form. The signature step of the song is already popular. We hope the audience loves the song.”
