With the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena scaling up its threat to vandalise cinema halls in protest against the screening of Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, security agencies are pulling out police records on MNS chief, Raj Thackeray, including bail papers detailing conditions against bonds signed by the politician at the Osmanabad and Paranda courts in April 2016.
State police’s intelligence wing has also compiled words used by Thackeray in his public comments, and the content of speeches of Amey Khopkar, who heads the MNS film wing.

‘Banning movies will not end terrorism’, Bollywood supports Karan Johar

NEW DELHI: Amid the riling controversy over ban on Pakistani artists and movies in the country, various Bollywoodactors have come out in the open to voice their opinion on the imposition. While some refrained from putting it out explicitly, others opposed the ban out loud.

The Bollywood celebrities were speaking on the sidelines of 18th edition of Jio MAMI (Mumbai Academy of the Moving Image) festival, where none of the Pakistani films will be screened this year.

Imran Khan was the always the first choice for Nikhil Advani’s upcoming film Katti Batti and the director says that he had to work very hard to get his “dream cast” of Imran and Kangana Ranaut for the film.

“The first person to come in my mind for the role of Maddy was Imran Khan. I didn’t want anyone else, I just wanted him,” Nikhil Advani said at a press conference on the trailer launch of Katti Batti.

Katti Batti is an urban rom-com between two very different people. A sudden turn of events create a distance between them.

Hamari Adhuri Kahani set to cross Rs 20 cr mark

Mohit Suri’s latest release Hamari Adhuri Kahani, might have opened to a slow start at the box office, but the film has managed to rake in Rs 19.52 crore in four days of its release.

Slowly and steadily moving up at the box office, the collection have gone up on Saturday and Sunday.

The Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan starrer even had an outstanding hold on Monday. The movie collected Rs 3.03 crore on Monday, taking the total nett at the box office to Rs 19.52 crore.

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan says he is relishing the “lovely” phase of being able to spend time with his grandchildren.

Mr Bachchan, who has three grandchildren – Aaradhya, Navya Naveli and Agastya – will be seen in the role of a superhero in the upcoming animated TV series Astra Force.

“When you are 73 these are the kind of people you meet. You meet kids, they are the happiest persons. We pass the age of youth, study, university, girls, marriage, wife, children. Now is the age of grandchildren,” Big B told PTI.

“It is a lovely phase, a lot of people say the best phase of an individual’s life is when he spends time with grandchildren. I will endorse that. Therefore this (playing superhero ‘Astra’) fitted into my mind,” he added.

Priyanka Chopra to Begin ‘Cop Duty’ for Gangaajal 2 in Bhopal

Actress Priyanka Chopra is off to Bhopal to begin shooting for Prakash Jha’s Gangaajal 2.

The Mary Kom actress will play the lead role of a cop in the movie, which is a sequel to the 2003 hit Gangaajal. The movie featured Ajay Devgn in the lead role.

Gangaajal 2 is about a female cop, who takes on some powerful and influential men in her district.

Directed by Prakash Jha, the film is expected to release later this year.

ABCD 2: Watch Varun Dhawan’s modern-day tandav in Chunar

The buzz around Remo D’Souza’s film ABCD 2 is rising with every passing day. This movie is a sequel to the 2013 Indian 3D dance film ABCD: Any Body Can Dance, which was also directed by Remo D’Souza.

Chunar features Varun Dhawan dancing to a highly emotional song. The full song is yet to be released, and in the shorter version that is out now, has Dhawan sporting a toned look.
