Actors Alia Bhatt and Shahid Kapoor fall for each other with quite a bit of opposition from Alia’s stern screen father, Pankaj Kapur, in the first trailer of their upcoming film Shaandaar.
The first look was simultaneously tweeted by Shahid himself and filmmaker Karan Johar, who has co-produced the film with Phantom Films, co-owned by Shaandaar director Vikas Bahl. #ShaandaarTrailer is currently the top trend on Twitter.
In the trailer, Shahid plays wedding planner Jaginder Joginder, who is in charge of Alia’s sister Isha’s wedding. Isha is played by Sanaah Kapur, Shahid’s half-sister and Pankaj Kapur’s daughter, making the film a Kapoor family affair. The film marks Sanaah’s debut in Bollywood.
The trailer also features Sushma Seth as the family matriarch and Sanjay Kapoor as a flamboyant wedding guest.
Shaandaar, which also co-stars Diljit Dosanjh, Shibani Dandekar and Anjana Sukhani, will hit the screens this October on Dussehra.
