Bollywood actor Aditya Pancholi was arrested by the Mumbai Police after he allegedly assaulted a bouncer at a night club of a five-star hotel in suburban Juhu on Saturday. He was initially sent to judicial custody till March 20 by a Mumbai court today but was granted bail soon after.
Mr Pancholi, 50, allegedly got into a heated argument with the DJ after his request for playing Hindi songs was turned down. He reportedly started hurling abuses after which bouncers at the nightclub intervened. The actor then allegedly assaulted one of them, leaving him injured.
“There is a complaint that he (Aditya Pancholi) hit a bouncer on his head with his mobile phone,” said Vidyasagar Vithal Kaalkundre, Police Inspector, Santa Cruz Police Station.
Mr Pancholi was charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including for voluntarily causing hurt, breach of peace and criminal intimidation.
