A source was quoted telling a daily, “He plays a cop in the film, but it’s a manipulative character with grey shades. For a long time, he was considering other actors but eventually decided it is the ideal role for him to debut with as an actor.”
Jha, who directed Gangaajal will not just act in the sequel but also helm it. The 2003 film was inspired by the blinding incident in Bhagalpur in 1979-1980. And, the sequel will revolve around a female protagonist.
Jha earlier told the daily in an interview he had drawn experiences from a young IPS officer for his film.
